Palestinian Cultural Enlightenment Forum, TANWEER is now honored by Freedom smile of its directors board, Wael Elfaqih despite repression of apartheid israel occupation. Every one outside this struggle against apartheid israel occupation, AIO asks with deep surprised how can a person smile as he is still under repression of AIO !!! The question in my opinion is deserved to be on the discussion table as every Palestinian not only released palestinian detainee is living under “Damocles sward” which mean that every Palestinian is exposed to be killed by apartheid israeli occupation. In fact i didn’t ask this question to Wael or to any Palestinian released detainee because any one lives in Palestine under this wild oppression will reach the secret of this smile of any Palestinian especially those who are released from AIO jails.
This secrete is coming from the Palestinian deep experience in their long struggle against AIO which exceeds a century. This experience tells every Palestinian that AIO can do any thing in Palestine except to change the conviction of Palestinian people of their humanized rights in freedom, justice, equality, social justice and dignity. This conviction is proved strongly by AIO crimes against Palestinian people for more than one century which result in occupying about 90% of all Palestine, damaging more than 531 Palestinian towns, deporting more than half of Palestinian people. Despite of all these hard results, Palestinian people are still alive with strong will to win this struggle against monster.
This push most Palestinian to smile saying that Palestinian people not only will never ever surrender but also they will win lastly. Every Palestine believe that he is participating in achieving his people rights through his resistance by any available tool. So his smile is a tool to his win.
But our Wael smile says to us more than that, it says to us; in sadness and happiness stay humanised
